Strange Occurrences

April 18, 2007

Ok, I haven’t blogged for a while… because there’s been a lot of stuff happening! We recently fired some people & hired some others… one of them happens to be a super cute boy. He is so cute that all the girls at the office have gone into some type of frenzy. I couldn’t care less – I’ve got my eyes set on someone else (which I will elaborate on in full detail on some other time). :p

Besides the cute boy being at the office, sharing the better half of our days – something strange happened between me & Goldilocks. The difference between Goldilocks and Blondie is that Goldilocks is much too involved in trying to micromanage to notice me. On the other hand, what I lack with Goldilocks, Blondie makes up. Since Blondie & I share a mutual understanding for creativity, I get along smoothly with Blondie. Not to say that I don’t get along with Goldilocks either; I have no choice! Well, anyway, one day, out of the blue, Goldilocks asked if I wanted to go to lunch with her.

“Right now?” I responded.

“Yes. It’s 12, isn’t it?” She responded, looking at me like I was incompetent.

“Ok. Just give me a second to grab my things.” I squeaked out. Then I ran over to my desk to double-check our calendars, in case I missed that tiny bit of detail that morning when I went over them. You see, Goldilocks never does anything that’s not on her calendar. So, this was out of the ordinary for her. For me, dreadful, because I couldn’t figure out why the hell she would want to have lunch with me. She doesn’t even eat lunch herself!

As it turns out, even on lunch, I am on duty. Especially with her. I ended up lugging two big boxes from her car to the UPS store for delivery. We did have lunch, but I just felt weird altogether that I didn’t even care what I was eating. After we spent a good hour and a half, blabbing about work and nothing in particular, she asked, “Do I have a meeting a 1:30?”

Fortunately for me, I memorize her calendar for instances like these! I said “yes.” And I have to say, I think we were both really relieved to be back in the office, doing what we do best.
